Annette Island School District continues to follow the Metlakatla Indian Community's (MIC) COVID-19 Mitigation Plan, which was updated 4-8-22.

  • If you are sick, please stay home/keep your student at home and get tested.

  • If you test positive for COVID-19, please let the school office or the COVID Health Team know.

  • Masks are optional if the community is at Alert Level 1- Low, but students and staff are always welcome to wear a mask at school if they choose.

  • This information is subject to change based the the community Alert Level and discretion of the school district.

Updated Covid guidelines for Families: AISD. Back to Normal activities: students eating in cafeteria/commons.  No delivery quarantine meals.  Restrooms open without capacity limits.  Masks: masking optional in green level, recommended at yello and required at red.  Students and Staff will be supported if they choose to wear masks.  Stay home if you're sick!  Anyone with respiratory or gastrointestinal symptoms should stay home and test ASAP.  Students with symptoms should wear a mask while in the building and may be sent home and encouraged to get tested.  If stuents are a close contact or test positive: exposed (vaxxed or not): mask for 10 days, not required to quarantine.  Recommended to test at intervals- health team can test with consent form.  Positive test: contact AISD Health team.  Students should isolate for 5 days and mask for additional 5 days after isolation.  Tips for staying healthy:

MIC Public Notice- Removal of Travel Mitigation Plan since we no longer have trackers.  Any changes in alert levels or status will be determined and released to the public.  Approved 9/6/22.

CDC Graphic Take action if you're exposed to COVID-19.  Watch symptoms for 10 days, wear a mask around others indoors for 10 days, test 5 days after exposure (or sooner if you have symptoms, if positive follow isolation guidance), take extra precautions for 10 days when around people more likely to get very sick.

CDC Graphic: take action if you test positive.  Day 0- stay home and away from others (people at high risk for severe illness: talk to your doctor about treatment. End isolation on day 6 or later if you never had symptoms or if you are fever-free for 24 hours and other symptoms improved.  Everyone through day 10: wear a mask or use 2 negative antigen tests to decide when to stop wearing a mask. Avoid people at high risk or getting very sick.  Day 11 or later.
